Spike in covid cases worry Indians

India reported 166 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, raising the total active cases to 895, according to data from the Union Health Ministry, with the majority of the new cases emerging in Kerala.

Recent daily averages have hovered around 100 cases, potentially attributed to the winter season, known for an increase in influenza-like illnesses. Notably, the lowest single-day case count since the onset of COVID-19 was 24 in July this year.

India’s overall COVID-19 tally stands at 4.44 crore, with a death toll of 5,33,306, resulting in a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent.
