Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday addressed an election rally in Kushinagar. Assembly elections are currently on in India's largest state in terms of population.
In his speech, Yogi accused the previous government, led by Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, of communalizing electricity provision. The BJP leader said that electricity was politicized whereby power would be supplied without fail during Eid and Muharram but not on Holi and Diwali. He added that his government doesn't discriminate against anybody.
Yogi also highlighted the fact that the free ration scheme has been enhanced by contributions by both the Centre and the state government.
The election results will be out on March 10. The 7th phase, which is the last phase, will be held on March 7. In his most recent speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the opposition has already lost hope. "Just after the completion of the fourth phase of election, they are alleging that EVMs have been hacked. They know well that their defeat is imminent," Modi said.
