India’s leading streaming platform Sony LIV has set the internet buzzing with the launch of the highly anticipated trailer for its Telugu original series Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans. Created by acclaimed filmmaker Deva Katta, the series stars Aadi Pinishetty and Chaitanya Rao Madadi in lead roles and promises an intense political drama that chronicles the journey of two close friends turned ideological rivals leading opposing political parties.

A Political Saga Inspired by Real Events

Set against the backdrop of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, Mayasabha draws inspiration from key political events spanning 1974 to 2009. The first season focuses on the turbulent years between 1974 and 1983, following the protagonists’ transformation from student activists to emerging political leaders. The series is jointly directed by Deva Katta and Kiran Jay Kumar and is set for a worldwide premiere on August 7 in multiple languages.

Trailer Launch Creates Buzz

The trailer, launched today in Hyderabad, offers a powerful glimpse into the lives of Krishna Kanth Naidu (Aadi Pinishetty) and MS Rami Reddy (Chaitanya Rao Madadi), who start with different ambitions but are drawn into politics with the intent to serve. As ideological clashes and circumstances drive them apart, their friendship evolves into a fierce rivalry. Themes of brotherhood, betrayal, and political power play dominate the trailer, setting the stage for an explosive political saga.

The launch event saw Sai Durgha Tej as Chief Guest, alongside the cast, crew, and media.

Deva Katta’s Passion Project

Calling Mayasabha his “beautiful imagination and a cherished dream,” Deva Katta shared, “It’s about two friends with a deep bond who are forced to become political rivals due to grander events beyond their control. I’ve wanted to tell this story since my childhood. It initially started as a film concept, but during the pandemic, I rewrote it into a web series. It took time, but I believe Mayasabha couldn’t have found a better home than Sony LIV.”

He further praised Sony LIV, adding, “This platform celebrates earthy and relevant storytelling. They supported and promoted this project like a dream. From now until August 7, Mayasabha is ours. From August 7, it becomes yours.”

Sony LIV’s Commitment to Authentic Stories

Danish Khan, Business Head of Sony LIV, said, “With Mayasabha, we continue our mission to take authentic Indian stories global. This is one of the finest projects we’ve backed—a very Telugu story with universal appeal.”

Saugata Mukherjee, Head of Content, added, “Good things take time. Mayasabha took 3–4 years to make, and Deva has poured 150% into it. It’s one of the rare shows that looked phenomenal both on paper and on screen.”
