Song Review: Design Your Destiny (‘Saakshyam’)

Perhaps, ‘Saakshyam’ needed a song revolving around the works of destiny.  The film is a supernatural thriller whose caption says that Nature is the witness.  As such, the song ‘Design Your Destiny’ is in order.  

Rendered by Harshavardhan Rameshwar, Haricharan and Jithin, the song presents a mix of impactful voices.  It’s fit to be a hero’s introduction song and music director Harshavardhan Rameshwar selects the right mix of voices.

For someone of lyricist Ananth Sriram’s depth, the lyrics are a bit underwhelming. Perhaps, he was limited by the film’s context, especially in penning the second stanza.  Music-wise, it’s far from inspiring.  There is no dearth of such songs that struggle to create an electrifying effect.  

Directed by Sriwass and starring Bellamkonda Srinivas and Pooja Hegde, ‘Saakshyam’ will hit the screens on June 14.
