Actor Sivakarthikeyan's 'Remo' released amid huge expectations yesterday (October 7) and the film has taken a tremendous opening across the globe placing it only next to Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' and Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Theri'.
Sources in Tamil film distributors circles reveal that the romantic comedy flick directed by debutant Bakkiyaraj Kannan has garnered somewhere between Rs.7 to 8 crores from across worldwide theatricals on the first day. It must be noted that the film did not have any overseas premiere shows as a conscious decision by the producer to curb piracy.
This places Sivakarthikeyan among the top five stars of Tamil cinema in terms of opening.
Trade is upbeat about the film's prospects as the weekend followed by continuous three public holidays is going to bring in raining collections at the box office. They also say that 'Remo' will break all the box office records of Sivakarthikeyan's previous blockbusters.
The film has received mixed to positive reviews. Sivakarthikeyan's performance is universally appreciated and the technical brilliance of the film, especially the camera work of P.C.Sreeram have won unanimous acclaim. This will add more fortunes for the film.
