Marking the birthday of acclaimed veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, Vyjayanthi Movies on Monday revealed that the Prabhas-Deepika Padukone film is going to be mentored by him.
“A long-awaited dream finally comes true. We are thrilled to welcome Singeetam Srinivasa Rao garu to our epic. His creative superpowers will surely be a guiding force for us,” Vyjayanthi Movies tweeted, without elaborating much.
The announcement comes amidst a rumour that the Prabhas film is a thematic sequel to Balakrishna’s ‘Aditya 369’, which was directed by Singeetam. “I remember meeting Srinivasa Rao, and telling him that I really wanted to make a sequel to ‘Aditya 369’. I said I would like to be a part of it in any way – either by writing or co-directing it with him. But he is not interested!” the ‘Mahanati’ director recently told Film Companion. Is Singeetam’s presence a hint that the Prabhas film’s story has something to do with ‘Aditya 369’?
To be shot in 2021, the film’s release date in 2022 is yet to be announced.
