College girl commits suicide after lover rejects her due to her poverty

A third year college student Sindhuja has committed suicide after her lover Ramkumar and his parents rejected her citing her poverty as the reason.  The classmates have been in love ever since their school days and initially it is said that the boy’s parents gave the green signal but backtracked after seeing the girl’s house.

On the fateful day Sindhuja had slashed her wrists with a knife and sent a Whatsapp message to Ramkumar but he had not responded which prompted her to consume poison.  The girl was then admitted to the hospital and was given treatment for 10 days and when it was certain that she would not survive a magistrate was called in who recorded her last statement in which she explained how she took the extreme step heartbroken by Ramkumar rejecting her after four years of being in love.  She had also alleged that the couple had a physical relationship over the years.
