Simran gets back her iconic role that she missed fifteen years back?

Simran was the first choice to play ‘Chandramukhi’ when the film went on floors fifteen years back and she even shot for a few scenes.  It was a few months after her wedding to Deepak Bagga and she discovered that she was pregnant and could not continue the film.  Jyothika replaced Simran and the rest, as they say, is history as the film became a huge hit getting her appreciation equal to the hero of the film Superstar Rajinikanth.

Now ‘Chandramukhi 2’ is getting ready to go on floors soon with the director of the original P. Vasu helming and Sun Pictures producing with Raghava Lawrence in the lead.  There have been speculation that Jyothika would return to play dual roles again as Ganga and Chandramukhi but she recently clarified that no one approached her and she may not be in the film.

Now once again another buzz is traveling in Kollywood circles that Simran has been approached to play a very pivotal role in ‘Chandramukhi 2’ though the same could not be confirmed with the team.  Jo also in her recent interview has told media that her ‘Vaali’ and ’12B’ costar is the apt choice for the role.  If this turns out to be true then Simran is getting what originally belonged to her after fifteen years.
