The official coronavirus updates for the state of Tamil Nadu has just come in and following the trend of the past week or so the high number of 765 new cases have been reported today. No change in Chennai contributing to the maximum number of 587 cases in the past twenty-four hours. The total number of positive patients in the state has now shot up to 16,277 with Chennai housing 10576 of them. The highest single-day number of 8 patients have lost their lives today taking the death toll to 111.
On the positive side 833 patients have been discharged today taking the total number of recoveries to 8,324 in the state of Tamil Nadu. 409,615 tests have been conducted in Tamil Nadu so fare making it the first state to do so in India. Today alone 12,275 have been tested.
