Simbu after shooting for the "Thee Thalapathy" song in Vijay's 'Varisu' flew to Bangkok for intense martial arts and fitness training in preparation for his upcoming movies. He is currently involved in dubbing work for 'Pathu Thala' in Bangkok and is expected to return home on March 10th.

There is great curiosity among Simbu fans as to his next movie after he delivered two back to back super hits 'Maanaadu' and 'Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu'. The hot news that is doing the rounds in Kollywood is that Simbu has listened to a script by Desingh Periyasamy and has okayed it as his 48th film.

Desingh Periyasamy made heads turn by delivering a critically acclaimed blockbuster hit on debut 'Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal'. The film starred Dulquer Salmaan, Ritu Varma, Niranjani Agathiyan and Rakshan. He also fell in love with costume designer turned actress Niranjani during the making of the film and married her.

After the success of 'Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal', Desingh narrated a script to Superstar Rajinikanth who liked it so much that he wanted to do it as his 169th film. However due to the high budget and other unknown reasons the project did not materialise. It is still not clear if Simbu has replaced Rajini in the soon to take off project or its a brand new script.
