A number of Twitter users have complained, of late, that their follower count has remained static for several months. So many social media influencers have realized that their accounts have been frozen without an intimation by Twitter. Actor Siddharth has suggested that he may well be a victim of shadow banning.

Tagging Twitter India, Siddharth today wrote that his follower count has remained stuck at 4.3 million for 16 months. How true is the claim?

Mohammed Zubair, a fact-checker, said that Siddharth has gained 46,000 followers in the past 30 days. "Many are facing the issue," he added. He further said that Sid's follower count increased only by 100K in the past 16 months. "Out of 100K, around 46K in past 30 days and remaining 54K+ in 15 months.. So there is something wrong," Zubair added.

Siddharth has requested Twitter to solve the issue.
