Allu Arjun’s much-awaited movie ‘Duvvada Jagannadham’ released yesterday to mixed reviews. While some fans were overjoyed over the latest movie from their favourite actor Bunny, others were overwhelmed about some oversights.
Coming out of the theatre, one viewer noted that, right before the interval, Allu Arjun can be seen chanting the Gayatri Mantra wearing slippers on: a gross disrespect to the Mantra, according to the fan. Being a Brahmin himself, he said that this showed how little research went into making the film and that there should be no factually incorrect representation of any community in films.
Accusing the actor, who claimed he had studied the Brahmin community for a few months to prepare for his role, and the rest of the DJ crew of an indifference towards the caste they were portraying, the angry fan exclaimed that the Censor Board should have paid more attention to this. He added that very few members of the Censor Board were knowledgeable about films and that those who hold these positions now-a-days are people who carry clout.
