A major road accident involving a Kerala State RTC bus and a heavy truck has consumed 21 lives and injured several others. The KSRTC bus reportedly collided with the truck on Thursday morning, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Reports say that there were 48 passengers in the bus. Since the bus has been completely mauled, the injuries among the survivors may well be very severe.
The bus was en route to Ernakulam from Bengaluru. The Tiruppur district administration officials have said that the injured passengers have been admitted to Avinashi General Hospitals, Tiruppur General Hospitals and private hospitals.

Kerala Chief Minister's Office today said that Kerala Cm Pinarayi Vijayan has instructed the District Collector of Palakkad to provide emergency medical care to the victims of the accident. "All possible relief measures will be taken in cooperation with the government of Tamil Nadu and the District Collector of Tirupur," it has been quoted as saying by ANI.
