Angry Star Rajasekhar's daughter Shivani Rajasekhar is not only known for her hot looks but also known for her impactful performances. Shivani after making her debut with a minor role in Pelli SandaD, made her presence felt in films like Adbhutham, WWW, and Shekar. She also starred in Tamil films, Anbarivu, Nenjiku Needhi and Not Getting Ready to entertain movie lovers with films like Vidya Vasula Aham and Kotabommali PS.
Kotabommali PS directed by Teja Marini stars Srikanth, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Rahul Vijay, Murali Sharma, Vishnu Oi, and others in important roles. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Nayattu. The film is releasing on 24 November 2023.
Shivani Rajasekhar who is playing the role of a police officer in the film, shared her experiences during her interaction with the scribes.
How did the film happen?
Director Teja Marini told me that they are making a film based on the Malayalam film Nayattu. When I told him that I had not watched the film, he asked me not to watch it but left the decision to me and later narrated the story to me saying they had made many changes to the original keeping in view Telugu nativity.
How the project moved forward
I chose to watch the Nayattu and then the look test and other things. I felt that the changes made to the original turned the film into a completely new one and not a remake.
What about the work atmosphere
The work atmosphere is lively to the core. I am playing the role of a police officer who comes from a village background. There was a scene in the film where I spoke to the senior officer and walked back. After completing the shoot, Teja asked me not to do a catwalk but to walk simply.
How did you prepare for the role?
My role is similar to the role I played in the Tamil film Nenjuku Needhi which is a remake of Hindi film Article 15. There the makers used makeup for my rural look but for my role in Kota Bommali, I did not use any makeup.
What about your dialogues in the film
The film has a Srikakulam backdrop. I faced little difficulty in getting used to the slang but luckily I had only a couple of dialogues in Srikakulam slang.
Your reaction to the song Lingi Lingi
Lingi Lingi turned out to be superhit and all credit goes to the music director Midhun Mukundan. Wherever I go, they congratulate me and it is a different feeling for me and I am extremely happy.
What is your take on Kotabommali's output?
I happened to watch the film after the completion of the shoot. It came completely different and gave a different feel to me. It looks new one and not like a Nayattu remake. I hope that there will not be any comparisons as we have taken only the soul of the film.
What role did your father Rajasekhar play, as he did many police roles
He did not involve much in the story or the script. But helped me in getting the attire perfectly fit.
What advice does he give to you regarding your career?
My dad or for that matter my mother does not get involved much and I feel they have that confidence in me and my sister Shivatmika. My dad only advised me to not to think about anything but to live in the moment.
You are not doing glamorous roles, aren't you worried
No. I am going with the flow and I am not craving to do glamorous roles or only commercial entertainers. I am giving importance to my role and strong stories and scripts. I follow the same in the future.
Shivani signed off fully confident that Kota Bommali PS will give her another resounding hit, boosting her career at the box office.
