The screening of the investigative thriller ‘Shekar’ was suspended in theatres across the Telugu States on Sunday. It is because of a case filed by financier Parandhama Reddy in a city civil court. In a piece of good news for the Rajasekhar-Jeevitha duo, the court is learned to have not intended to stop the screenings in the first place.
“Some forces deliberately obstructed the screening of the movie in theatres. The court itself has no objection whatsoever to ‘Shekar’ being screened. ‘Shekar’ can be screened without any obstruction,” director Jeevitha and producer Beeram Sudhakar Reddy today said.
The duo will be briefing the media about the whole controversy and details of the case at a presser on Tuesday.
On Sunday, Rajasekhar said, “Cinema is our life. I can only hope that this film will eventually get the visibility and appreciation that it truly deserves.” His wish has come true.
‘Shekar’ is directed by Jeevitha Rajasekhar and co-stars Aathmiya Rajan, Shivani Rajasekhar, Muskaan and others. Its music is by Anup Rubens.
