In the trailer for ‘Seetimaarr’, there is an interesting irony. Tamannaah Bhatia’s character is heard saying this: “Kalam garu kalalu kanamannaru, pagati kalalu kaadu’. Immediately, the dialogue cuts to an item song, the stuff of ‘pagati kalalu’. Leaving aside the irony, the trailer packs a mass-masala punch, complete with Gopichand’s punchlines.
Gopichand plays a Kabaddi coach who wants his team to win a national trophy so that the ordeal faced by his village receives national attention. There are villains, one of whom is a loud-mouthed cop (played by Tarun Arora). Rao Ramesh is a misogynist who believes that women should not do sports because it would entail them wearing short clothes.
Directed by Sampath Nandi, the semi-sports drama will hit the screens on September 10.
Also featuring Digangana Suryavanshi, Bhumika Chawla, Rehman, Posani Krishna Murali, Rohit Pathak, and Ankur Singh, the semi-actioner is produced by Srinivasaa Chhitturi. Presented by Pavan Kumar, its music is by Mani Sharma, while the cinematography is by Sounder Rajan. Edited by Tammiraju, the art direction is by Satyanarayana.
