‘Seemaraja’ vs ‘Baahubali’ – Sivakarthikeyan Exclusive interview

This Vinayaka Chathurthi festive date September 13 is all set to become more colorful as the Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Seemaraja’ hits the screens.  The film directed by Ponram and produced by 24 AM Studios has Samantha, Simran, Soori, Yogi Babu, Napolean, Lal and Keerthy Suresh in the cast.  We caught up with Siva for an exclusive interview in which he has shared many exciting details about his most awaited film.

A mix of Rajini’s Mass and Kamal’s class is your style?

“(Laughs) I am sure I have not reached such a level yet in my career.   I have grown up watching mass hero films which I love and furthermore I even had it in mind that these entertainers only should be watched in theaters.  ‘Seemaraja’ too contains only mass elements but I am aware that the mix of both is important and in future I will work on that.”

We heard that Soori and yourself have sported a six pack in ‘Seemaraja’…

“(Siva quickly denies)  No I have not sported a six pack in fact look at my stomach that is a family pack (laughs).  It is Soori anna who has worked hard beef up his body and he did it with much dedication and the result has been so good that there is no graphics or color touching for his look which has come out naturally awesome.   I told Soori anna that I will call him Six Pack Soori after this and it we are proud that we broke the stereotype that comedians should be restricted to only bring the laughs.”

About Simran…

“Its wonderful that Ponram sir actually narrated the script with Simran mam in his mind for the villain role.  I had my doubts how she could play such a loud and audacious character.  But on screen I was amazed at how she got under the skin of the role and performed and I was admiring her as a fan boy just like how I watch her songs.”

Comparisons with ‘Baahubali’…

“We are only proud if we are compared with ‘Baahubali’ which is a benchmark film in Indian cinema and our ‘Seemaraja’ team are also part of the millions who loved it.  The historical portion will be of a serious nature while the rest of the film will be a laugh riot.”
