Veteran actor Radharavi has recently joined the DMK party and he addressed a meeting attended by party cadres held a couple of days back,. In the video of his speech which has been released in social media, the senior actor mocks the political rivals Vaiko and S.Ramadoss comparing them to children with physical disabilities and special children.
This has received wide spread condemn among activists and also social media users. Even the DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi has strongly objected to Radharavi's derogatory comments about the differently abled children.
Radhakrishnan, the President of Association for Differently-able persons has announced that their association plans to picket Radharavi's house to protest against his comments.
In view of that, police security has been beefed up for the Teynampet residence of the veteran actor.
Radharavi has clarified that his comments have been misinterpreted and he never intended to insult the differently abled brethren. He also said he is willing to join their association as a volunteer.. He pointed out that he has been helping the physically challenged people in whatever ways possible for him through the Lions club. and he has built a class room in the special school for differently abled children in the name of his father M.R.Radha.
As the police denied permission to conduct any protest in front of Radharavi's house, the Association for all kinds of disabilities conducted a protest in a place near the house.
