Vijay Antony Produces ‘Pookie’: Promo Released!

Music composer, actor, and producer Vijay Antony has presented his 18th production venture under Vijay Antony Film Corporation (VAFC) titled Pookie. The film’s official promo was released (January 19, 2026) by Vijay Antony himself. Making his lead debut is Ajay Dhishan, Vijay Antony’s nephew (elder sister’s son), who has previously worked as an assistant director on a few films.

Directed by Ganesh Chandra, who previously served as the cinematographer for the film Salim, Pookie features RK Dhanusha (Dhanusha) as the female lead. The film revolves around the relationship struggles and emotional dilemmas faced by today’s Gen-Z / 2K generation couples, blended with breezy comedy and thrilling twists in the screenplay.

The ensemble cast includes prominent actors such as Pandiarajan, Sunil (the popular Telugu actor), Indumathi Manikandan, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Aditya Kathir, and Priyanka in key supporting roles. Vijay Antony also appears in a special cameo.

Vijay Antony has handled the music and editing for the film. Shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, Pookie is shaping up as a youthful romantic comedy entertainer aimed at Valentine’s Day audiences. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026 (Valentine’s Day weekend).

Ajay Dhishan had earlier acted in a supporting role in Vijay Antony’s Maargan. Now stepping into the lead for the first time, the promo has already started receiving good buzz on social media. Fans are praising the youthful vibe, Vijay Antony’s signature background score feel, and the relatable comedy timing shown in the teaser.
