Popular comedian Sathish is debuting as a hero with the upcoming film 'Naai Sekar', written and directed by the newcomer Kishore Rajkumar with music by Ajesh. Pavithra Lakshmi of Cooku With Komali fame is making her silver screen debut with this project and will be playing the leading lady.

With the release of biggies like 'RRR', 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Valimai' postponed indefinitely due to the third wave of coronavirus, multiple small scale films have planned to use the Pongal festive release to bank some profit. 'Naai Sekar' is one of the films, which is now slated to hit the screens on January 13, 2022 in accordance with government protocols.

Produced by Bigil producer Kalpathi S Agoram, the film has passed the the censor with a clean 'U' certificate issued by the Central Board of film Certification (CBFC). The cast of Naai Sekar also includes George Maryan, Livingston, Ilavarasu, Sriman, Gnanasambandham, Manobala, KPY Bala and music composer Ganesh (of the Shankar-Ganesh duo).
