Director Sarkunam gets death threats!

Director Sarkunam, who had debuted with the comedy entertainer Kalavani, went on to direct the critically acclaimed Vaagai Sooda Vaa again with Vemal, and later directed Dhanush starrer Naiyandi and Atharvaa starrer Chandi Veeran.

The director’s next release is going to be Kalavani 2, the sequel to his hit debut Kalavani, again starring Vemal, Oviya, Ganja Karuppu, Saranya Ponvannan, Ilavarasu and many others, and the movie was earlier announced as a May release. However due to a case filed by Dhanalakshmi productions, the film’s release was stayed.

Later, the stay on the release was lifted and the director, who has also produced the movie in Varman productions had been working on the release. Now, Sarkunam has filed a complaint in Chennai Commissioner’s office, where he has mentioned that despite getting the court clearance, he is receiving death threats and calls threatening him not to release the movie. Sarkunam has requested the commissioner to take the necessary action against people who threaten him.
