Saranya Ponvannan’s gangster film title revealed along with a poster

We already reported that the acclaimed actress Saranya Ponvannan is all set to play a hardened gangster in her next. While the role will be the first of its kind for the talented actress, the makers have now revealed the title and first look poster of the film.

Actor Jiiva shared the first look poster of the film, which has been ‘Gangster Granny’. Directed by Vishnu Ramakrishnan, the film is set in Chennai and revolves around a gangster who had stopped indulging in violence. Sharing the poster, Jiiva posted, “#SaranyaPonvannan is back with a bang. This time not as an ordinary mother, but an extraordinary #GangsterGranny.” (sic)

The poster had Saranya holding a gun in her hand with a fierce look in he eyes. The project marks the second directorial project of Vishnu, who had earlier cranked the camera for Prabhu Deva’s Oomai Vizhigal, a yet-to-be-released film. His directorial debut, starring Chaya Singh, too, is awaiting a release. 

Saranya, who has Kallapart and Idimuzhakkam up for release, is also making her Bollywood debut this year with Chup: Revenge of the Artist, an anthology that has R Balki at the helm.
