Santhanam is a comedian turned lead actor in the Tamil film industry. Beginning his career as a comedian on television, he rose to fame through his performances in Star Vijay's Lollu Sabha. He entered Kollywood with 'Pesadha Kannum Pesume' and grabbed the limelight with STR's 'Manmadhan'.

Santhanam started lead roles since Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham in 2014. He starred in 'Dikkiloona' and 'Sabhaapathy' in 2021 which received a good response from the fans and audience. The teaser of his upcoming film 'Agent Kannayiram', the remake of the Telugu blockbuster 'Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya', is slated to be launched tomorrow on his birthday.

Meanwhile, Santhanam announces his next movie with a Kannada director through his Twitter page. Filmmaker Prashanth Raj, who made Kannada films like ‘Love Guru’, ‘Gaana Bajana’, ‘Zoom’ and ‘Orange’ will be making his Tamil debut project with Santhanam. This will be Santhanam’s 15th movie as the lead and tentatively titled 'Santa15'.

Santhanam wrote in his Twitter handle, “Happy to join hands with director @iamprashantraj for a film under the banner #FortuneFils. Can’t wait to reveal more details with you guys #ProductionNo10 #Santa15.” Director Prashanth Raj reportedly stated that his first film in Tamil will be a unique romantic comedy and the movie shooting will go on grounds on March 10, 2022.
