Actor Santhanam, who had two releases last year with Dhillukku Dhuddu 2 and A1, started this year with Dagaalty. Initially it was announced that Dagaalty directed by debutant Vijay Anand and Server Sundaram directed by debutant Anand Balki will both release on January 31.

However, Server Sundaram's release was pushed to February 14. The movie which was supposed to release in 2017, has been delayed by 3 years, and yet again it was postponed from February 14 to February 21. Now the director has posted an emotional tweet apologizing for the delays.

Anand Balki tweeted "We are very sorry for misleading on release dates I thought the problems were over so I requested @iamsanthanam & other techies to be part of promotions but it’s disheartening for us ,someone’s mistakes we need to face will update soon மன்னித்துவிடுங்கள் ...@Kenanya_Off".
