The Nampally court heard Icon star Allu Arjun concerning the stampede incident at Sandhya Theater during the screening of Pushpa 2. The public prosecutor requested additional time to file counter-affidavits, prompting the court to adjourn the next hearing to Monday.
Chikkadapally police are expected to submit their counter-affidavits at the next session. While it was initially anticipated that Allu Arjun would appear in person, his lawyers requested a virtual appearance, citing concerns over safety and security.
The court granted this request, allowing him to attend the proceedings virtually. Arguments were heard, and with the conclusion of his 14-day remand, the court also postponed the hearing related to the extension of Allu Arjun’s judicial remand to January 10.
The case stems from a tragic stampede that occurred during the movie’s screening, resulting in the death of a woman and sparking widespread controversy in the Telugu states. The incident has caused a major stir, drawing significant public and media attention.
Police investigations have revealed critical details, which have intensified further after the arrest and release of Allu Arjun.
