The much-awaited 'Saaho' has left trade pundits shocked by grossing a mere $915,224 from 317 locations in the US through premieres.  This would have been a great figure had the stakes been not so high.  But since 'Saaho' was bought by overseas distributors for a bomb, the figure is terribly underwhelming.  

For perspective, 'Spyder', a huge flop in Mahesh Babu's career, grossed one million dollars in 2017.  'Saaho' is at a shocking No. 6 position, with the first five ranks occupied by 'Baahubali-2', 'Agnyaathavaasi', 'Baahubali-1', 'Khaidi No. 150' and 'Spyder'.  Chiranjeevi's comeback film was a remake and 'SPYder' didn't have great visuals or 'Saaho'-type buzz going for it.  And these films still did better than 'Saaho'!

"With these figures, the film will give enormous losses to distributors.  It's next to impossible for the overseas players to earn break-even with this film," a source says.  

Before its release, 'Saaho' was likened to 'Baahubali' in terms of hype.  Comparisons were spectacular before the release and the market players bought into the highly inflated hype.  However, in terms of premiers' gross, the Sujeeth-Prabhas film has turned out to be a mere shadow of 'Baahubali-2'.
