Veteran actor S.Ve. Sekhar is also an important member of the ruling BJP party’s Tamil Nadu wing and he is known for his controversial statements on a regular basis. While criticizing the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhaniswamy recently he also disrespected the Indian national flag and a case was filed against him.
It was expected that since Sekhar was close to the BJP he would easily avert any action against him in this case but surprisingly the ADMK leaders adamantly pursued the case and an arrest warrant was issued.
S.Ve. Sekhar today submitted a petition in the Madras High Court rendering an apology for disrespecting the flag and he also gave an assurance that he will not repeat his mistake. The court has adjourned the case to September 7th and barred the police from making any arrests till then.
However the police already inform the court that if Sekhar rendered unconditional apology they would not arrest him.
