RGV unveils a 3-minute-long teaser of ‘D Company’

‘D COMPANY’ has been described by Ram Gopal Varma as the mother of all gangster flicks. True to his style, he recently boasted that the film, to be released in Telugu and Hindi and set in Mumbai, will tell the story of the father of gangsterism. For all we know, RGV has been crushing on Dawood Ibrahim.

But, but… As RGV himself says, the film is not just about Dawood Ibrahim but also about the various people who lived and died under its shadow. How different this is from his films of the 1990s and the subsequent decades is to be seen.

The teaser of the movie is more than three minutes long. Yet, it may take longer than usual for you to realize who actually is playing Dawood. Sans dialogues (except in the last leg of the teaser), it feels longer than its run-time. Replete with typical RGV frames, the teaser also randomly mentions names that RGV most likely doesn’t know a thing about: Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.

Populated with unfamiliar actors, this one is yet to lock its release date. When it does, be assured that not many will take notice.
