Breaking! Karthik Subbaraj joins Shankar’s next movie

Director Shankar had a torrid couple of years due to the long delay in the making of his ‘Indian 2’ starring Kamal Haasan and the legal battle that is going on between him and Lyca Productions. A few days earlier the Madras High Court ordered in his favor allowing him to move on to his next projects before a solution is reached in the case.

Shankar is now ready to start his next in a few weeks time with Ram Charan in the lead produced by Dil Raju with music by Thaman.  It is now learned from reliable sources that the story for this project tentatively titled ‘RC15’, director Karthik Subbaraj has come on board as story writer.

It is said that Shankar liked the politically charged script written by Karthik Subbaraj and opted for it immediately and the buzz is that the younger filmmaker was paid a whopping rupees two crores for his effort. 

In his earlier films, Shankar has collaborated with writers such as Sujatha, Balakumaran, Suba, Jeyamohan and others.  This is the first time he has chosen a script by another director and the official announcement on this exciting combo is expected very soon.
