RTC bus tickets to Tirumala are in the news for a controversial reason. As per reports, the tickets issued to pilgrims by the RTC are coming with an ad about the concessions offered by the state government to pilgrims of Jerusalem. As per BJP and other saffron units, this ad is intentioned to offend the sentiments of Hindus even as the special interests of a particular community are promoted.
In this context, the state unit of the BJP has mocked the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. “Before the election, the YSRCP slogan was ‘Kavali Jagan, Ravali Jagan’, (‘Andhra needs Jagan, wants Jagan’). But now, is this their new Slogan- Ravali Jesus, Kavali Jesus? Promoting one particular religion on the bus ticket to Tirupati is highly objectionable. This must come to an end,” the party said.
The administration has suggested that the printing of the ad on the RTC ticket was a gaffe.
