Director C.S. Amudhan has made 'Thamizh Padam' and its sequel two of the most successful spoof films ever in Tamil cinema. His new movie 'Ratham' starring Vijay Antony is touted to be an out and out serious crime thriller and the trailer has just dropped.

The 'Ratham' trailer shows a bearded Vijay Antony with one of his hands in a cast emroiled in a series of murder cases and a political turmoil. His character connects the dots that what is reported about the controversies are carefully plotted like a screenplay in a movie.

The two minute two second 'Ratham' trailer suggests that C.S. Amudhan has tackled the malpractices by the media in covering up crimes of those in power. The tag line reads "A MONSTER HIDES BEHIND EVERY CORNER". There could also be a touch of humor as a superstar fanboy threatens movie reviewers with dire consequences which is the norm on social media.

The character of Vijay Antony in 'Ratham' seems to be tailor made for him as the mysterious man who is not what he seems to be. Nandita Shwetha apparenly plays a journalist while Mahima Nambiar and Remya Nambesan are the other female lead. Music is Kannan Narayanan, Gopi Amarnath is the D O P, Editing is by T.S. Suresh, Stunts by Dhilip Subbarayan and the film is produced by Infiniti Film Ventures.

On the whole the 'Ratham' trailer promises to be a socio political thriller with a relatable but hitherto untouched subject. The visuals contain the necessary elements to drum up the interest. The film releases worldwide on September 28th.
