Rashmika Mandanna has suggested that Bollywood makes true romantic songs, while Telugu, Tamil and Kannada cinema make masala, item songs.
“Bollywood’s romantic songs were a thing. In South, masala songs, item songs and dance numbers were made,” the star heroine said on Wednesday while talking about her liking for Hindi songs as a child and a teen. The video clip is going viral.
The ‘Pushpa’ actress is now being seen as a thankless person by many South Indian fans. “It’s the Kannada film ‘Kirik Party’ and the Telugu films like ‘Bheeshma’ that gave her career a fillip. Just because she is doing movies in Bollywood these days, she thought of insulting South Indian cinema,” a Netizen wrote.
Another Netizen said that Taapsee Pannu, too, behaved in a similar way in the past. “After becoming famous in Hindi, she equated South Indian film songs with navel-gazing and all. She hit out at the sensibilities of K Raghavendra Rao, her first director, in a disrespectful way. She later apologized for the same. Will Rashmika, too, apologize?” a Facebook user asked.
