A couple of months back in July, Ranveer Singh broke the internet when he shared pictures on his social media account from his nude photoshoot for New York-based Paper Magazine. The pictures received mixed reactions from the people and a few sections weren’t happy about them.
Soon, an obscenity case was filed against Ranveer and was charged under sections 509, 292, and 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as Section 67 A of the Information Technology Act. Now, the actor has testified that the photograph that was doing the rounds on social media allegedly showing his private parts were “morphed” & “tampered”. Interestingly, when the photos went viral, the actor was quoted as saying that he can get naked before thousands of people and he is not ashamed of nudity.
"In his statement, he has said that the seven photographs he posted on Instagram were not obscene and he was wearing underwear. He added that the photograph in which the complainant had alleged that his ‘private parts were visible’ was morphed and not part of the photo shoot,”
“He provided us with all the photos taken during the photoshoot. The police team also checked his Instagram posts, which do not have the photograph that was given by the complainant,” he added.
According to the sources, the said photograph has now been sent to the forensic science laboratory & if it’s confirmed that it is indeed morphed, Ranveer is likely to get a clean chit as the FIR that was registered against him was based on that same photograph & specifically mentioned that his private parts were visible.
