Following weeks of speculation, Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are finally married. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony at Ranbir’s Pali Hill residence Vastu, where he lives with Alia.
Sharing a series of gorgeous pictures from the ceremony on her Instagram page, Alia Bhatt wrote, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home ... in our favourite spot - the balcony we've
spent the last 5 years of our relationship - we got married. With so much already behind us, we can't wait to build more memories together ... memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special.”
The wedding was attended by a limited number of guests, including Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Alia Bhatt’s parents Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan, sisters Shaheen Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt, besides Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Karan Johar, Navya Naveli Nanda, Ayan Mukerji, and Akash Ambani. The pre-wedding festivities, including the mehendi and haldi ceremonies, were conducted on Wednesday.
Speaking about the wedding, Ranbir’s uncle Randhir Kapoor got emotional over the actor’s late father Rishi Kapoor. “It is a big day for the family, and Chintu should have been here. We miss him every day, but today we are missing him more. But life goes on. It is nice to see Ranbir and Alia starting this new chapter. Hope Rishi would have been here to witness this moment. I am missing him so much today,” he was quoted as saying. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Ranbir and Alia will host a grand reception at the luxury hotel Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai on April 17.
