Ram Charan receives grand welcome at Melbourne Airport

Ram Charan is set to make a dazzling appearance at the 15th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), adding star power to the prestigious event. The actor, who arrived in Melbourne on Independence Day to a roaring welcome from his fans, is scheduled to receive the coveted “Ambassador for Indian Art and Culture” award at the closing ceremony tomorrow, August 16th.

The airport was abuzz with excitement as fans greeted Charan and his wife Upasana with bouquets of flowers and cheers, showcasing the actor’s immense popularity in Australia. Charan sported a casual yet stylish look, sporting a black t-shirt, a black baseball cap emblazoned with the iconic Goku from Dragon Ball Z, and dark sunglasses.

The festival, running from August 15th to August 25th, celebrates its 15th year with Ram Charan as the Guest of Honor. In recognition of his significant contributions to Indian cinema, the festival will also host a retrospective of his iconic films.

The IFFM, known for its diverse programming, will showcase a wide array of films, including Bollywood blockbusters, indie movies, documentaries, and regional cinema, at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda, Melbourne. The closing ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, promises to be a star-studded affair, with attendees including A.R. Rahman, Malaika Arora, Karan Johar, Nag Ashwin Reddy, Rajkumar Hirani, and more.

This year’s festival, themed “All Our Voices,” champions inclusivity, diversity, and the multiplicity of perspectives in society. Ram Charan’s presence as the Guest of Honor and his recognition with the “Ambassador for Indian Art and Culture” award is a testament to his exceptional talent and global influence. Ram Charan created a sensation with his powerpacked performance in the role of freedom fighter Alluri Seetha Rama Raju in Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR and is currently busy with Game Changer under the direction of Shankar and also has projects with star directors Sukumar and Buchi Babu Sana.
