Director Nag Ashwin achieved massive success with his mytho-sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas. The movie grossed an impressive Rs. 1100 crores globally, sparking major anticipation for its sequel. However, due to Prabhas’ packed schedule, the production of Part 2 will be delayed.
In the meantime, Nag Ashwin plans to direct a different project before starting work on the sequel. Reports suggest that a few months ago, he had discussions with Bollywood star Alia Bhatt. Now, fresh rumors indicate that the director recently met with Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth and pitched a story idea.
Reportedly, Rajinikanth liked the concept and encouraged Ashwin to develop a full script. Previously, director Vivek Athreya had also met Rajinikanth with a proposal, but there has been no update on that collaboration. It remains to be seen whether this new project will bring Nag Ashwin and Thalaivar Rajinikanth together or if the talks remain speculative.
