Now it has been officially confirmed that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is a part of the mega-budget project 'Enthiran 2' with Superstar Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in the lead roles.

Though the official press release from the team sent late night yesterday states that Akki has been cast in "an equally important role" it is pretty clear that Akshay has been cast in the lead villain role and he will be giving a tough fight to Thalaivar in the film as the Bollywood star has been cast in the role that was initially offered for Hollywood superstar Arnold.

The release states that the film was planned to be launched in a grand affair but the recent rains and floods that ravaged Chennai has made the team opt for a simple launch.

The movie is being referred as '2.0' by the team as it should be considered as 'Enthiran version 2.0'.

Meanwhile, the shoot of '2.0' itself started yesterday with Nirav Shah mantiling the camera and Shankar calling the shots. Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson took part in the first day shoot. Akshay Kumar, Subhaskaran., Chariman of Lyca Productions, the production banner of the film, Music director A.R.Rahman,Art director Muthuraj and VFX Supervisor Srinivas Mohan graced the first day shoot.

Ace writer Jayamohan is pairing up with Shankar for the first time for dialogues. Editing will be handled Antony while Oscar Award Winner Rasool Pookutty handling the Sound Designing.

Though the team '2.0' missed out on casting Arnie, there will be a host of international technicians working in this gargantuan project.

The movie is being shot in 3D made with top technicians from all over the globe making it a complete world class film. Legacy Effects from USA, the world No.1 Animatronics company who worked on movies like Jurassic Park, Iron Man, Avengers has been signed in for this movie.

Special costumes are being designed by Mary.E.Vogt (Quantm Effects) who has done famous costumes for 'Tron', 'Watchman' are also the part of '2.0'.

This team also consists of 'Transformers' fame Action Director Kenny Bates, VFX are handled by 'Life of Pi' fame John Huges, Walt from Taufilms.
