On Monday night, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch in an alleged porn racket. The police said that 11 people were arrested on this case and Raj is described as the "key conspirator".
Kundra has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Yesterday, The cops have recovered nearly 70-90 pornographic videos by Raj Kundra's former PA Umesh Kamat with the help of different small-time production houses. Some are over 20 to 30 minutes long in duration, a source said.
He was produced before the 37th metropolitan magistrate on Tuesday and remanded in custody till July 23. Today, the court has rejected Raj Kundra's bail plea and according to reports, he will be kept in custody till July 27.
