In the last three days, the intensive spell of rain that has showered in Hyderabad has made normal life difficult for common man. On Sunday as well, it started to pour since early hours and in the span of six hours, Hyderabad has received 75 per cent of its average nine day rainfall. As the skies opened up, many areas in the city have come to their knees.
All the Sunday plans have gone in vain as rain has spilled water on them. Motorists have been stuck on roads in the traffic for hours and hours. Trees have fallen to the ground. Cars are submerged in the water, manholes were open and a lot of damage has been happening.
With more than 15 cm of rainfall in the city, traffic snarls and power cuts have become the most annoying thing. Also, the meteorological department has predicted the rains almost a week ago and for the next few days but it looks like our officials have not taken the warning seriously.
With each passing year, the water clogging system in Hyderabad is just getting worse.
