Raghava Lawrence and Suriya on the same day

Actor Raghava Lawrence's next release after the 2015 blockbuster 'Kanchana 2' will be 'Shivalinga' directed by veteran P.Vasu. The new posters of the film released yesterday carried the 'January 2017' release tagline.

Now reliable sources reveal that the makers are planning to release the film on January 26, 2017 for the long Republic Day holiday weekend. Sources add that just two songs have to be canned for the film and the team is running against the clock to complete the shoot and we can expect an official announcement on the release date in the next few days.

'Shivalinga' is the Tamil remake of Vasu's Kannada super hit with the same title released last year. Lawrence and Ritika Singh have played the lead roles. Shakthivel Vasu the son of the director will be reprising the pivotal supporting character he played in the original. The supporting cast includes Vadivelu. Radharavi, Bhanupriya and Urvashi.

If 'Shivalinga' hits the screens on Jan 26, it will be a head to head clash between Lawrence and Suriya who 'S3' has been scheduled to release on the same day.

We will have to wait and see if that happens.
