Sangeeth Shobhan's Fantasy-Comedy Raakaasaa Release Date Locked

Raakaasa is set to expand its footprint globally, with Atharvana Bhadrakali Pictures officially acquiring the film’s overseas theatrical rights. The film will release across more than 350 screens in key international markets including the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, marking a significant overseas push ahead of its worldwide premiere on April 3, 2026.

The large-scale rollout highlights growing trade confidence in the project’s theatrical potential. Industry observers note that such an expansive release strategy reflects positioning the film as a full-fledged theatrical event rather than a limited diaspora outing. The coordinated distribution plan across major territories is expected to provide strong opening-day visibility and sustained screen presence.

Digital traction has also contributed to the film’s overseas momentum. Since the announcement of its title and the unveiling of its first glimpse, Rākāsā has generated notable engagement across platforms. The glimpse has crossed 1.8 million views, offering audiences a preview of the film’s tonal design and visual aesthetic while keeping narrative details under wraps. The steady online response is understood to have bolstered confidence among international distributors.

The film stars Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika in lead roles. Sangeeth returns following the commercial success of MAD and MAD Square. The supporting cast includes Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Getup Srinu among others.

Written and directed by Manasa Sharma, the film marks her feature directorial debut. She previously served as writer-creator for Oka Chinna Family Story and directed Bench Life. Sangeeth Shobhan had earlier collaborated on Oka Chinna Family Story, adding continuity to the creative partnership.

Rākāsā is presented by Z Studios and produced under the banner of Pink Elephant Pictures by Niharika Konidela and Umesh Kumar Bansal.

The technical team comprises music composer Anudeep Dev, cinematographer Raju Edurolu, and editor Anwar Ali.

Having completed principal photography, the film is currently in post-production, with work underway on editing, background score, sound design, and overall visual finishing. The makers have maintained narrative secrecy, allowing anticipation to build organically ahead of release.

With overseas distribution now firmly secured and international visibility steadily expanding, Rākāsā appears positioned for a strong global opening when it arrives in theatres worldwide on April 3, 2026.
