Is Raaj Kamal Films leaving Simbu’s magnum opus ‘STR 48’? Dhanush movie makers in talks?

Atman Simbu has teamed up with director Desingh Periasamy, known for ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal,’ for a magnum opus tentatively titled ‘STR 48’. The project was announced a year ago, and a concept art featuring Simbu in dual roles was released in February. However, there have been no indications of the movie commencing production.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan was initially set to produce ‘STR 48’ under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International. However, according to the latest buzz, RKFI plans to transfer the project to a different production company due to the high budget. Reportedly, they are in talks with Connekkt Media and PK Prime Production, the producers of Dhanush’s ‘Ilaiyaraaja’ biopic, to take over ‘STR 48’.

We should take this news with a pinch of salt as it is unconfirmed. Meanwhile, Simbu is starring alongside Kamal Haasan in director Mani Ratnam’s gangster action film, ‘Thug Life,’ produced by RKFI, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. ‘STR 48’ is expected to commence by the end of the year once the production details are finalized.
