‘Pushpa: The Rise’ on Friday took a phenomenal opening at the box office. Trade reports have said that the Allu Arjun-Sukumar duo’s most commercial film ever made outstanding figures, so much so, the performance was superlative.
As per trade reports, the mass masala entertainer took the highest opening for the year 2021 in India by grossing Rs 52.50 Cr, while its Nett figure is Rs 45 Cr.
The film has put Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Vakeel Saab’ (Rs 46 Cr) behind. ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ made Rs 41.50 Cr. ‘Master’ (Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi starrer) made Rs 40 Cr, while Rajinikanth’s ‘Annaatthe’ raked in Rs 34.70 Cr. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ made Rs 31.40 Cr.
Two factors have worked against the film. One is that ‘Spider-Man’ is a big competitor in the market, while the other one pertains to low ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh.
Starring Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh and Fahadh Faasil, ‘Pushpa’ has music by Devi Sri Prasad. It is holding strong on Day 2 and is expected to have a great run at the box office in the coming days as well.
