‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ Set for Grand Release in Japan

Pushpa 2: The Rule is all set to expand its global footprint with a grand Japanese release on January 16, 2026. The film, starring Icon Star Allu Arjun, will hit screens in Japan under the title Pushpa Kunrin, through a collaboration between Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, Geek Pictures, and Shochiku.

The announcement greeted Japanese fans with a warm message — “Konnichiwa, Nihon no Tomo yo” (Hello, friends of Japan). Alongside the announcement, the makers unveiled a specially dubbed Japanese trailer and striking new posters showcasing Allu Arjun’s fierce and charismatic avatar as Pushpa Raj.

Having already been declared an industry hit following its massive worldwide release in five Indian languages on December 5, 2024, Pushpa 2 continues to expand its global footprint. The sequel, directed by Sukumar, was crafted with a vision to elevate its international appeal, with the makers earlier hinting at giving the narrative a broader global flavor.

Allu Arjun, who received widespread acclaim for his intense performance, has repeatedly credited the film’s triumph to director Sukumar, saying the “entire success belongs to one man.”

The film features music by Devi Sri Prasad, whose soundtrack and background score have been widely celebrated. Fahadh Faasil plays the antagonist, portraying a powerful police officer, while Rashmika Mandanna’s emotionally charged performance—particularly in the Jathara sequence—earned strong praise from audiences and critics alike.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, with the film continuing to shatter boundaries as it marches toward a larger global presence.
