Kannada Superstar Puneet Rajkumar lovingly called Appu died in Bangalore suffering a Heart attack at the age of 46. The film fraternity and the close allys of Appu were shocked to know the demise of this talented actor.
He was known for his philanthropic works and actor Vishal who is a close friend of Puneet vowed to take over the educational expenses of 1000+ children. Even after his death, he donated his eyes in accordance with a pledge by his father Rajkumar, that he along with all his family members will donate their eyes after death.
His funeral was reportedly attended by more than 25 lakh people and was buried at Sree Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore. Post his demise, Karan Acharya a Banglore bases graphic artist known for his popular depiction of Hanuman in his Angry Hanuman graphic sketched a mind-blowing picture of Puneet and his father Rajkumar in heaven as per the request of his fans.
