PubG director’s important demand to censor board regarding rape scenes!

Director Vijay Sri G, who is currently directing the movie Polladha Ulagil Bayangara Game (PUBG), has said that the censor board should consider instructing filmmakers to add a statutory warning for rape scenes in their films. The director’s PUBG has a scene similar to Hathras gang-rape and he’s planning plans to include a statutory warning.

Vijay Sri G has said that during the release of his debut Dhadha 87, he had asked the censor board on adding a statutory warning in the title card, but he was said that only their head office can decide on that. Vijay Sri G had included an additional slide after the mandatory statutory disclaimer for smoking and drinking, which read “Touching a woman without her consent is a punishable crime”, which was read by lead actor Charuhasan.

Further the director says that government sells cigarettes, liquor and warns both are harmful to us, and as women are subjected to harassment, a warning should come in such scenes come as well as films have a huge reach and when top actors say this message in their voice it’ll have a great positive impact on the audiences. Reportedly, PubG has a scene where five men rape a girl and burn her body to in the presence of the police, and this scene was shot before the lockdown, bit the director was stunned when a similar happened in real life in Hathras.
