Priyanka Chopra has lung-related disease

“I use an inhaler for asthma.  What’s stopping you?”  These are the words of Priyanka Chopra.  Yes, the Bollywood actress has come out in the open to talk about her asthma.  For the first time.  

“Those who know me well know that I’m an asthmatic. I mean, what’s to hide? I knew that I had to control my asthma before it controlled me. As long as I’ve got my inhaler, asthma can’t stop me from achieving my goals & living a #BerokZindagi,” the ‘Quantico’ star has said as part of a campaign for awareness about asthma.

A highly-paid actress, PC enjoys the admiration of millions.  By trying to remove stigma associated with asthma, she has done the right thing.  In films, for example, directors shy away from showing asthma as afflicting a lead character.  ‘Manu’ (Telugu), released recently, is a rare exception where its heroine Neela (Chandini Chowdhary) has asthma.
