Prashanth Neel has addressed the growing speculation surrounding Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam and reassured fans that the sequel is still very much in the pipeline.
Recently, Neel mentioned in an interview that he wants to move away from his signature dark gangster-action dramas for a while and explore mythology-based storytelling. He revealed that he already has a mythological concept in mind and hopes to work on it in the future.
Following those comments, rumors quickly spread online suggesting that “Salaar 2” might no longer happen and that N. T. Rama Rao Jr.’s “Dragon” could be Neel’s final gangster-action film for the time being.
However, the filmmaker has now clarified that there is no truth to those assumptions. According to reports, Prashanth Neel confirmed that “Salaar 2” is very much on track and that work on the film is expected to begin after the release of “Dragon,” likely sometime in 2027.
The clarification has come as a huge relief for fans of Prabhas, especially after uncertainty began circulating around the sequel’s future.
At present, Prabhas is busy with multiple big-ticket projects including Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Fauji directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 directed by Nag Ashwin.
Once these commitments are completed, the actor is expected to reunite with Prashanth Neel for the much-awaited continuation of the “Salaar” franchise, which remains one of the most anticipated sequels in Indian cinema.
