The Sankranthi 2026 movie race has officially kicked off with Chiranjeevi’s film “Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu” locked in for a festive release. The Sankranthi season is usually known for hosting two to three major releases, along with a smaller film, and this year’s lineup is beginning to take shape.
Joining the race is Naveen Polishetty’s “Anaganaga Oka Raju,” which is also aiming for a Sankranthi release. However, a major point of interest is Prabhas’s upcoming film “The Raja Saab.” Originally scheduled for a December 5, 2025 release, the movie has now been postponed. A new release date, expected during Sankranthi 2026, will be announced next month, likely along with a brand-new poster.
With the recent end of the Tollywood strike, production for “The Raja Saab” is set to restart soon. Though Prabhas is currently working on another film, “Fauji,” directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, “The Raja Saab” is set to arrive in theaters first. This horror-comedy, directed by Maruthi, features Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan as the female leads.
