As anticipation builds for Vishnu Manchu’s magnum opus Kannappa, set to release on June 27, director Mukesh Kumar Singh has revealed exciting details about Pan-India star Prabhas’s role in the film. Speaking to the media, the director clarified that Prabhas’s presence in the movie is much more than a cameo and plays a meaningful, impactful part in the narrative.
“There are no filler roles in Kannappa,” Mukesh said, highlighting how every character—including those played by Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal—contributes to the spiritual journey of the film. “Prabhas fans will not be disappointed. His screen time is significant and well-utilized,” he added.
Mukesh also shared that the film was extensively shot on real locations, with Prabhas’s scenes filmed in India while most of the movie was shot in New Zealand. He praised Prabhas’s involvement, saying that the response to his performance from early viewers was overwhelmingly positive. “After watching the film, Mohan Babu garu hugged me. That was the biggest compliment,” Mukesh noted with pride.
With Kannappa shaping up as a grand devotional-historical drama, the inclusion of a superstar like Prabhas is expected to elevate the film’s pan-India appeal and draw audiences from all corners.
